During quarantine, there have been so many days where everything feels SO boring. Not having anything to do or not knowing what to do can lead you into a funk.
Jaidyn Casimates, a freshman at Ironwood Ridge says, “I’ve been practicing more with my music stuff especially within the orchestra. I’ve been trying to learn the piano and it’s going pretty well. I also spend a lot of time with my family, we go on bike rides a lot which I enjoy.”
Social media played a big role at the beginning of quarantine. Many people worldwide used social media as their main source of entertainment. Casimates says “At first I didn’t have much to do, so I spend a lot of time on social media, which I still sort of do but I have been trying to get away from that.”
Finding things to do outside of your normal routine, may be difficult, but it is always good to try new things if you can.
Senior at Ironwood Ridge, Selena Brower says “I have started journaling and learning more about stocks.” Brower continues, “even though I’m not the best writer, it is still something I enjoy doing.”
Something everyone needs to remember is, we are all going through this, which can lead to stress and boredom, and there is always something to look forward to. In the end, the lesson learned is that no matter how bad things may seem, joy can always be found in the chaos.
