“To always try your best and not give up. Your grades do matter, but also balance your social life.”
Shawn Hesse
What are your plans after graduation?
“Im gonna go to the University of Arizona. I’m going to study biochemistry and medical pharmacology and toxicology, with the hopes of eventually going on to pursue an MDMVH in becoming an emergency physician.”
Is there anyone you would like to thank for where you are now?
“..I’d really want to thank my two spanish teachers, Mrs. Robertson, and Mrs. Appell, and then my chemistry teacher Mrs. Bills.”
What is some advice you would like to share with your fellow Nighthawks?
“You should not stress about anything , ‘cause everything will work out in the end.”
Paris Galindo Barrera
What are your plans after graduation?
“After graduation, I’m going to be attending the University of Minnesota. I will be studying finance”
Is there anyone you would like to thank for where you are now?
“My parents have always led me to where I am. They have always inspired me. Also my teachers, like Mrs. McElhinney, have definitely been a reason why I love maths so much.”
What is some advice you would like to share with your fellow Nighthawks?
“Its really easy to get caught up in what people think of you, not doing the things you enjoy because its embarrassing or cringe And I think, honestly, just don’t care, which is really easy to say and not really easy to feel, but when you stop caring about what other people think, it makes you have a much better time.”
Alexander Shaffer
What are your plans after graduation?
“Attending the University of Arizona to study Bio-Medical.”

“I would like to thank all my teachers, friends, and family.”

“Stay determined, set goals for yourself and strive for success.”
Julian Sanchez
What are your plans after graduation?
“Go to the University of Arizona for Aerospace Engineering.”
Is there anyone you would like to thank for where you are now?
“I am thankful for many of the IRHS teachers including, Mr. Anderson, Mrs. McElhinney, Mr.
Baker, Mr. Wolf, and Mrs. Miller.”
What is some advice you would like to share with your fellow Nighthawks?
“One thing I always see people not do is try. If you try constantly over time it will get better.”
Addison Blackburn
What are your plans after graduation?
“What are your plans after graduation? I am going to Texas A&M University to study biomedical engineering”
Is there anyone you would like to thank for where you are now?
“ Definitely my mom. She’s everything to me, and she’s the most inspirational person I know, and my sisters. They help me grow into the person I am. I, for sure, would be in a different place if I didn’t have them.
What is some advice you would like to share with your fellow NIghthawks?
“I think be kind. I think everybody’s story is different, and you should just have grace for everybody on this earth, because everybody’s going through something different. Find something to be passionate about, because we need passionate youth more than ever. especially with AI and everything. It’s so important to be unique and be yourself, and that’s what makes you special”
Sorella Natale
What are your plans after graduation?
“Go to Colorado School of Mines for Neuroengineering.”
Is there anyone you would like to thank for where you are now?
“I’d like to thank my mom for always pushing me. Also my teachers Mechelhinney, and McGowan for believing in me. And I would also like to thank my dad for making learning more interesting with your fun facts.”
What is some advice you would like to share with your fellow Nighthawks?
“High school goes by really fast and you should enjoy every moment.”
Jacob Ouellet
What are your plans after graduation?
“I plan to either go to Purdue or the United States Airforce academy to study astronomical engineering.”
Is there anyone you would like to thank for where you are now?
“My father is the one I look up to the most. He inspired me to always try my best and take pride in all I do. He devoted his life to providing my siblings and I the opportunity to be successful, and he is my hero for it.”
What is some advice you would like to share with you fellow Nighthawks?
“Life is about balance. To be successful, you must understand when to focus and when to take a break. Surround yourself with people who make you a better person, and can support you in times of struggle. Don’t be afraid to take breaks and enjoy high school.”
Lily Lingard
What are your plans after graduation?
“Im planning to attend the University of Arizona at the Franke Honors College. I’m planning to pursue a mechanical engineering degree.”
Is there anyone you would like to thank for where you are now?
“My family, teachers, and my friends. They have helped me out everytime I have a hard time or need help with school. Especially my friends Kyah Brant, Paris, and Addy.”
What is some advice you would like to share with your fellow Nighthawks?
“Don’t make school your number one priority. It’s important to get involved, do other things besides schoolwork. Just in general have a good time and not focus too much on grades.”
Ruby Schulte
What are your plans after graduation?
“My plans after graduation are to attend the University of Arizona in the W.A. Franke Honors College. I would like to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering with minors in science and mathematics.”
Is there anyone you would like to thank for where you are now?
I’d like to give thanks to my family for enduring all of my emotional hardships with me, my engineering teacher Mr Miller and math teachers for helping me foster my love for STEM and realize what I wanted to do in life, and my orchestra teacher Mx. Lovins for making me the violinist and leader that I am today.
What is some advice you would like to share with your fellow Nighthawks?
“Dont be afraid to take a break. I think it’s important to work hard, but to also play hard. Take those breaks and make time for yourself. Especially when burnt out.”
Every year we take an opportunity in the final issue of the Iron Quill to celebrate the academic achievers on our campus. Among them are future scientists and teachers, athletes and engineers. They represent everything this school has come to represent. Hardwork, balance, and determination are qualities that spring to mind when we think of these people. Now it’s time for the top of the flock to leave the nest.
