K-Pop Club

Like many clubs at Ironwood Ridge, the K-pop Club meets every Wednesday after school to join with other Korean music fanatics. Nighthawks in the IRHS K-pop club are really nice and welcoming. Some of the activities enjoyed during this time are learning dances and listening to favorite K-pop songs.
A popular topic discussed during advisory is new and upcoming albums and tours. BTS had their first concert in South Korea last month, and that was the first concert in 4 years, being a part of a massive world tour. Being one of the most mainstream and popular K-pop groups, this news is a big topic of conversation among Nighthawk K-pop fans. As of April 2026, BTS returned as a full group following their mandatory military service, including a new album, Arirang. Other major discussions in the club include Taeyang’s solo comeback, legal disputes involving NewJeans and THE BOYZ, Heeseung leaving Enhypen, and continued global expansion through K-beauty and film.
K‑pop has become a global music phenomenon with its blend of catchy melodies, high‑energy choreography, and carefully crafted idol groups. Once a regional genre, it has grown into a huge industry with fans spanning every continent. In a place like Arizona, the popularity of K-pop is mostly due to internet access. Leaving Nighthawks who enjoy the genre, only being able to discuss it online. The K-pop Club at IRHS is an opportunity for those students to connect and make friendships through their interests.
