Summertime can hold many adventures, going to the pool, the park, taking trips to see family/friends, sightseeing, and more. However, the summer time can be very hot and sometimes you crave a snack to help you cool down.

Eatingwell.com has a list of snacks to give you that summertime feel. Yogurt bark is a snack that can be healthy and keep you cool. There are many things you can add to yogurt bark to give it the right flavor. For example, your favorite fruit can be topped with chocolate, granola or anything else.

Here is the recipe for Smores Yogurt Bark:

Ingredients: 3 cups of plain greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons of mini marshmallows and 3 tablespoons of graham cracker crumbs

Materials: baking sheet, parchment paper, a bowl and a spatula to stir

Steps: Start by mixing the yogurt, honey and graham cracker crumbs in a bowl and spread evenly into the baking sheet, then put the chocolate chips, marshmallows and remaining graham cracker on the top. Then freeze for about 3 hours or until solid, break up and enjoy your summer snack.

Another healthy snack to have during the summer would be yogurt parfait . If you crave something sweeter, chocolate dipped fruit is greatly suggested. You can dip about any fruit in chocolate, freeze it and have a sweet treat.

Of course, we cannot forget the original summer snacks, ice cream and popsicles. These frozen treats have so many flavors to choose from. Popsicles can be homemade using ingredients like lemonade, juice or just granola and yogurt, they can also be store bought. Homemade popsicles do take time to make, depending on what you use to make the popsicles they can take longer to freeze. Ice cream has a variety of flavors and can be paired with many things. Summer is the perfect time to enjoy a sweet treat that can keep you cool in the hot summer heat.
