Nick Warren, a junior at Ironwood Ridge High School officially committed to the University of Arizona’s baseball team on August 25, 2020. At the age of four, Nick Warren started playing baseball and fell in love with the game quickly. When he started, he kept his eyes forward on his goal to one day be in the MLB, and he never looked back.
He looks up to players like Derek Jeter and Mike Trout– some of baseball’s greats. Their work ethic have inspired him to be the baseball star he is today. Every day the quote “be the best you” motivates him to break down walls other people see as impossible.
Over the years, he has embraced his failures and tries to never be satisfied with where he’s at. Although he is very excited, he is not enamored by the glory of being a University of Arizona commit because he still has goals much bigger than that. He knows that he still has to keep working everyday and be consistent to rise to the top of the game. During his offseason, he worked with current Yankees (his favorite team) catcher Donny Sands, who has helped him take his skills to the next level.
Nick Warren has his parents to thank for showing him what hard work is and giving him all the opportunities to be the best athlete and person he can be. They were the backbone for him when he suffered from an elbow injury that included a surgery and four months of recovery. His parents were always his backbone through the injuries and failures; they always motivated him to come back stronger.
This Tucson native is very excited about the opportunity to stay close to home and play top tier baseball and have his family there for support. He hopes to help bring a national championship back to Tucson. Also wants to make the most out of the opportunity of being around this amazing team and staff and learn as much as he can to help him achieve his goal of going pro. He’s thankful for everyone that’s helped him on his way and is excited to be a Wildcat. Nick Warren will be a great addition to the University of Arizona’s baseball team, after their recruiting class just ranked number four nationally.

Congratulations Nick!
