The Ironwood Ridge theater department has two upcoming fundraiser events to raise money for the theater department itself. The first show, on October 8th, is “Miscast 75 Below”. The second play is “All Together Now,” which will be later this semester on November 12th-14th.

Miscast 75 Below, is set to be performed in Ironwood Ridge’s very own Black Box Theatre, which is located in the fine arts department. All Together Now is scheduled to be performed in the auditorium on campus.

The Miscast 75 Below cabaret is produced by Aiden McCoy (12). When asked about his experience producing the play, he stated, “Producing my own show has been such a wonderful experience, and has allowed me to view the world of theatre from a completely different perspective. I am ecstatic to see the complete show this Friday (Oct.

8th), and I am honored to have been given the opportunity to produce and direct such a wonderful production.”

The play will be composed of various songs, sung by actors who do not typically play the role they are assigned. This usually means genderbent performances, where an actress sings parts that were written for a male actor, or vice-versa. According to the theatre department website, the show is “inspired by MCC Theater’s annual Miscast performance, and features songs from Dear Evan Hansen, Anastasia, Hamilton and more.”

All Together Now is another play for the IRHS students to look forward to. It will include songs from Les Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors, and Beauty and the Beast. The show will be composed of 15 musical performances, ranging from solos to full ensemble numbers. One of the most unique attributes about this play is that it is set up so that every theatre department within the country that wants to do the play will be doing the exact same play at the exact same time.

Tickets will be on sale at the door, so make sure you come and support your fellow Nighthawks that are performing!
