Staff all around campus have been reporting some questionable behavior from students towards the animals. With the weather cooling down, more animals are coming out into the open.
Ms. Harris, an Assistant Principal at Ironwood Ridge High school, states that she has seen students throw rocks at snakes and birds. There has also been problematic behavior towards IRHS’s owl nest, with students being caught throwing various items into the nest. These acts of carelessness are considered animal abuse, and the abuse is going towards defenseless animals.
Beyond hurting the animals, throwing rocks and other items at animals, animals become agitated and might attack the students. Leaving these animals alone is the best thing to do for them. If they are not bothered, they will feel calm and stay away from students. The school will not take these dangerous acts towards animals lightly, and serious consequences will come upon students who harm these animals.
