Go thrifting—I love going to the thrift store because there’s always unusual things there that are interesting to see. You and your friends could pick outfits randomly and have to wear them to go out.
Go to gas stations and get slushies—get your friends together and go get some gas station snacks. Make sure to mark your calendars because 7/11 free slurpee day is July 11, and watch for updates on 7/11 bring your own cup day, which was August 27th in 2022
Go somewhere new—maybe you’re bored of the same places you always go to, and the best way to beat that boredom is by trying something new, look for local shops, cafes, and restaurants and go try them out!
Home movie night—get your friends and set out some popcorn and snacks and set out blankets and pillows in front of the TV for a fun summer night activity.
Swimming—You can cool off and fight boredom with a jump in the pool on a hot summer day. There are lots of fun pool games that you can find on the internet to elevate your swim day. If your house doesn’t have a pool, you could go to the aquatic center or the YMCA.
Spa night—have your friends wear cozy pajamas and make face masks, drink mint water, and paint your nails
Go hiking—despite the heat, a hike in Arizona summer can still be super fun. You can go early in the morning or at night to avoid the miserable part of the day, or you can try a trail that takes you to pools or waterfalls
Plan a picnic—pack a blanket, a basket, and whatever else you want, and have a picnic in the park
Paint—you can easily do this alone, or with friends. You can paint rocks, canvases, or just about anything
Tie dye—another crafty activity that can be done in a group or alone, even if tie dye isn’t your style, it’s super fun to make something personal to you. Like with painting, you can tie dye just about anything, as long as it’s the right material. Before dying something, look up whether the material will hold the dye
Bake – make cookies, decorate cakes, try a new recipe, and, of course, make sure to taste the results
Go for a bike ride—find a bike trail near you, or you can bike through neighborhoods and along roads.
Make homemade ice cream—all you need is a few bags, some ice, some salt, sugar, flavoring, and half and half. Not only is it a fun activity, but it gets you some delicious ice cream as an added bonus.
Slide show night—make fun slideshows on google slides or powerpoint and present them with your friends. You can google ideas, but the best are any specific to your friends.
Make pizza—buy or make some pizza dough and make it into fun shapes and top it with the toppings of your choice.
Friend date night—dress up with your friends and go out for fancy dinner and dessert
Karaoke—get together with friends, pull up karaoke songs on youtube and sing your hearts out
Bowling—go to a bowling alley, or set up empty plastic bottles and a ball and make your own bowling alley at home
Bingo night—get prizes like candy or little toys, print out bingo cards, and make numbers you can draw or use a number generator
Have a campfire—find or make a fire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows and make s’mores
Water fight—get some water guns and water balloons and bring your friends. Whoever gets the wettest is the loser!
