We have two new staff members at IRHS this year, John Thompson who is the new nurse this year, and Alex Thomas who is the new IT tech.

John Thompson started working here at Ironwood Ridge on February 20th, 2021, and has been a registered nurse for 22 years. Thompson’s inspiration for becoming a nurse was for his newborn grandson so he would be able to help him if he was sick or hurt. Mr.Thompson likes to ride motorcycles. Thompson also plays the guitar, shockingly, he has owned 15 guitars since 1963. Thompson has been in a few bands where he was the bass player and he also taught guitar and music theory at Northland Pioneer College in the mid-80s. Mr.Thompson has had a very enjoyable experience at IRHS so far, “everyone has been very kind and friendly” Thompson said.

Alex Thomas actually started working here in 2012 as a teacher’s aide for Special Ed, however, he got his job as an I.T tech on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021. Originally from Bordeaux, France, Mr. Thomas worked as a computer technician for Paris 7-Jussieu, a university in France. After moving to Tucson with his wife, he got a job working as a teacher’s aide at CDO in 2004. Mr. Thomas has been working with computers his whole life and is very tech-savvy. He does a variety of different things as an IT, which is someone who works with technology. He resets student passwords, fixes printers, and basically handles any issues with technology. In addition to this, he manages the IRHS website. In his free time, Mr. Thomas likes to ride bikes and he dabbles in photography. Mr. Thomas says he “ Loves the place and the people too, the students and the staff, everyone is very kind and helpful.”
