Cake pops can be the perfect treat for any time of day! Here is a recipe for cake pops by Preppy Kitchen.
Ingredients: ready made cake batter, frosting, candy melts
Materials: lollipop sticks, freeze/refrigerate safe pan, decorating materials
Step1- Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit
Step 2-start by making the boxed cake according to the instructions and let it cool completely
Step 3- crumble the cake into a bowl and mix in frosting until it has a cookie dough like texture or until it doesn’t have a crumbly texture
Step 4- roll mixture into cake balls that are about 1 inch
Step 5- refrigerate for 4 hours or freeze for 30 minutes
Step 6- melt the chocolate/candy melts according to instructions on the package, make sure to melt them when the cake mix is almost done cooling
Step 7- dip the end of the lollipop stick in the chocolate and insert it halfway into the cake pop (be careful so the dough doesn’t fall apart and you can add more chocolate if needed)
Step 8- dip cake ball into chocolate and gently tap against the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate
Step 9- decorate the cake pop if you would like, then let cake pops sit until
the chocolate is set
Here are some tips for while you’re baking:
- You don’t have to add all the frosting, just enough to get the right texture.
- Be careful when you are dipping the cake pop in chocolate so the stick doesn’t fall off the cake pop, it helps if you have a spoon to pour the chocolate onto the cake pop.
