Finals are around the corner, and people are beginning to stress about whether or not they are prepared and will be ready when it comes time to take their tests. These tips and suggestions will get your study preparations going.
1. You need to give yourself time to study. So study at least three days before the test. People find it more stressful to cram it all the night before, and it isn’t effective. It is good to review all the stuff you studied so it can be fresh in your head the night before the test. If you procrastinate for any reason, you may find it difficult to be rushed to get all your work done.
2. Try not to do too much studying at once. Cramming it all in your brain in so little time might not be the best for you. Space out the work over a smaller period of time.
3. Try to study at the same time every day. Studying around the same time each day, then it will make it into a routine that becomes the regular part of your day.
4. Set goals for yourself, and how you want your day to go studying. These goals will help you stay focused. Just sitting down to study isn’t too valuable. So have a set goal to ensure what you want to accomplish during the studying.
5. Work on the most difficult assignments first. If you begin with the hardest, it will feel easier as you move on.
6. Put the distractions aside. For example electronics or loud music. If you get distracted by your phone, you will forget where you were or what section you are on. Put your distractions in another room or silence them.
7. Review everything over the weekend. Even though weekends are for relaxing and rest, continue looking over things over the weekend. This will help you the week you come back to school.
8. Get enough sleep. Sleep is crucial for doing well on an exam or test. Your mind responds quicker if it is well-rested. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep.
9. When taking the test, skip the harder questions and do the easier ones first and go back to them. It will take more time staring at a few hard questions, and then going back.
10. Practice with someone else or keep writing what you are studying down. Writing it down will improve your ability to remember things and will implement it into your brain. As well as, saying it aloud multiple times. This will help you remember things easier.
Finals are less than a week away, so good luck and study up Nighthawks!
