IRHS’s JTED Veterinary class is hosting their fourth dog grooming service of the school year on March 5th. The event will be held at 450 East Wetmore Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Any sized dogs and cats are allowed to attend, as long as they have their rabies vaccination.
The students will provide the pets with “coat brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, teeth brushing, anal gland expression, bathing, de-shedding, and towel dry or blow-dry their coats,” according to the Pima Veterinary Science JTED website, the minimum service fee is $10.00 per pet.
The program also has “Doctor Days” where a certified veterinarian comes in to vaccinate and do physical exams on the pets. The vaccines they provide for canines are the DA2PP “Combination Vaccine,” Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine “Kennel Cough,” and the HeartWorm 4DX SNAP Test. The vaccines they provide for felines include the FVRCP “Combination Vaccine,” Rabies Vaccine, and FELV “Feline Leukemia.”
