Easy Pecan Pie

Ingredients:
1 whole unbaked pie crust
1 cup white sugar
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup corn syrup
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup melted butter (salted)
3 whole eggs, beaten
1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions:
1. First, get out your pie crust.
2. Preheat the oven to 350˚. Next, mix the sugar, brown sugar, salt, corn syrup, butter, eggs, and vanilla together in a bowl.
3. Pour the chopped pecans in the bottom of the unbaked pie shell.
4. Pour the syrup mixture over the top. Cover top and crust lightly/gently with foil. Bake the pie for 30 minutes. Remove the foil, then continue baking for 20 minutes, being careful not to burn the crust or pecans. NOTE: PIE SHOULD NOT BE OVERLY JIGGLY WHEN YOU REMOVE IT FROM THE OVEN. If it shakes a lot, cover with foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until set. Required baking time seems to vary widely with this recipe. Sometimes it takes 50 minutes; sometimes it takes 75!
5. Allow to cool for several hours or overnight. Serve and enjoy!

I personally have never made a pie before, so I was up to the challenge. This recipe is not complicated and great if you are in a time crunch. I, however, was not in a time crunch, but it took me less than 20 minutes to whip it all together. I am no baker but this is a very simple recipe. I was mixing all of the ingredients in a bowl and, after all of them were in, I decided to mix it with a whisk, which worked best for me. I also did not use all of the filling in the pie crust because I had more than I needed. I have never tried a pecan pie so I had nothing to base it on. But it was very delicious. I ate it when it was warm but I would recommend waiting for it to cool. There was a good ratio of filling and pecans. I would definitely recommend this pie for anyone for the holidays, especially for those who are looking to try something new.
